Hi John,

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, state leaders across the nation stepped up to the plate and made hard decisions to protect Americans. Many governors declared states of emergencies, which gave them more authority to quickly pass sweeping orders without the input of the state legislatures. Temporary state of emergencies were necessary during statewide lockdowns when millions were unemployed and needed help.

Since then, liberal governors have tightened their grip on these powers, indefinitely extending state of emergencies, mandating masks, continuing business shutdowns, and more. These broad-sweeping mandates don’t serve residents of the states well and strip local leaders of their power to call the shots in the communities they know best.

Multiple state supreme courts have declared these power grabs unconstitutional, but the liberal governors have blatantly ignored them. The three branches of government exist for a reason, and these power-hungry liberal politicians are pretending the foundations of our democracy don’t exist.

Sincerely,

Casey
