If we can spend trillions of dollars in the blink of an eye to bail corporations out, maybe we can actually afford things like universal healthcare and a real, robust plan to fight climate change.
If some of our lowest paid, most expendable workers are in fact "essential" to survive this pandemic, maybe all work should have dignity and workers should have a say over the conditions of their work.
If corporations actually count on government bailouts to make it through a crisis, maybe we the people should get a share of the profits, and have a say to ensure companies are run in the best interests of workers and the public, not just the bosses and shareholders.
If America's billionaires can rake in hundreds of billions of dollars during the pandemic while 30 million Americans lose their jobs, maybe we should tax their wealth.
And if Black people are vastly more likely to die at the hands of the police due to living in communities that are under-resourced and over-policed, maybe we should divest public money from policing and incarceration and invest in schools, healthcare, housing, jobs, and social services that will allow Black people to thrive in America.
