Indivisibles,

When Senate Republicans tell you who they are, believe them. This morning,
Trump’s enablers in the Senate are eagerly betraying the American people
by moving forward with Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing. With the
election only a few weeks away and a COVID-19 relief package nowhere in
sight, it’s clear that we are not the priority of our elected officials.
Check out our Save SCOTUS hub to learn what you can do to block this
confirmation:

[ [link removed] ]Senator Lindsay Graham asked us to use his words against him so we’re
calling it as we see it: this hearing is illegitimate and shouldn’t be
happening at all. As of yesterday, [ [link removed] ]7.5 million people have already cast
their ballots in what they know is the most consequential election of our
lifetimes. By moving forward with the hearings anyway, the Senate is
ignoring an active process that very well may end in many of them being
voted out of office. And, despite that an unknown number of Republicans
have been infected with COVID-19, they are still willing to put politics
over public welfare. Americans just want to be able to pay their bills --
instead, the Republicans are offering to confirm an anti-health care and
anti-choice justice for life. Senator Elizabeth Warren laid it out pretty
clearly:

If you’re infuriated at the hypocrisy of it all, there’s still time for us
to push back. [ [link removed] ]This week is our fourth Windivisible Week of Action, and
we’re going all in to make calls in states with critical Senate races. By
talking to voters about what’s at stake, we empower them to hold our
elected officials accountable for what we see during this confirmation
process. Do your part to send Trump and his Senate enablers packing by
signing up to make calls, triple your vote, and write letters to the
voters we need to win -- [ [link removed] ]click here to get involved this week.

Today is also Indigenous People’s Day, so we invite you to take a moment
to honor and acknowledge Indigenous people and their land. [ [link removed] ]Use this map
to learn more about the Indigenous community on which your city was built
and learn its name and customs. The history of erasure of Indigenous
people continues today in the form of voter suppression. With most people
mailing their ballots, rural tribal communities may struggle to have their
vote counted due to location, lack of access to transportation, or other
socio-economic barriers. Learn more about the movement to re-enfranchise
Indigenous people by reading about the [ [link removed] ]advancements made this year and
where we can go from here.

Today marks a massive checkpoint for our movement, get to work with your
weekly to-dos:

 Your weekly to-dos

 1. [ [link removed] ]Help us secure the last two Senators we need to block Amy Coney
Barrett's confirmation to the Supreme Court. Now that several
Republicans have tested positive for COVID-19, Lindsey Graham and
Mitch McConnell are quite literally risking their own lives and the
lives of everyone around them to install an anti-healthcare and
anti-choice justice for life. So here's what we can do: Keep fighting
and keep calling. It is definitely making a difference. We still only
need 2 more senators to win this thing! [ [link removed] ]After you call, make sure
to continue to take action using our save SCOTUS hub here.
 2. [ [link removed] ]Check out our new Protect the Results event map to demand a
peaceful transition of power after the election. Indivisibles all over
the country are getting ready to mobilize ahead of a potential
constitutional crisis if Trump refuses to accept the results of the
election. Join or host an event to demand that every vote is counted.
If you’re curious about hosting an event for your community, [ [link removed] ]click
here for our event host toolkit and [ [link removed] ]click here to RSVP for any one
of our host training webinars.
 3. [ [link removed] ]Take this pledge to triple your vote. Multiply your impact by
getting three people you know to turn out and vote. Once you’ve signed
the pledge, check out our message templates and tips on how to start
reaching out.
 4. [ [link removed] ]Find more ways to make an impact on the outcome of the election by
taking a look at this list of action items. We put out this list when
we still had 50 days to go before Election Day. Now, with less than 30
days before November 3, make sure you and the people you care about
are doing everything you can to send Trump and his friends in the
Senate packing.

 2020 Update

* Trump can’t seem to make up his mind on whether he wants to negotiate
for a COVID-19 relief package or if he would rather hold it over our
heads until after the election. Either way, he’s using the suffering
of millions of Americans as a political ploy to help him get
re-elected. Trump is losing to Biden in the newest [ [link removed] ]CNN/SSRS poll
in a key voter demographic that helped Trump in the 2016 election --
voters 65 and older. Biden holds a 21 point lead at 60% support from
seniors, while Trump trails at a mere 39%. Scrambling to close the gap
and regain support, Trump promised to send $200 prescription drug
discount cards to seniors before the election. We see right through
his tactics: if Trump actually cared about the well-being of seniors
he would be talking about lowering prescription drug costs or
preventing price gouging.
* Trump would have had to answer to voters this Thursday during a town
hall-style debate. Instead, his commitment to downplaying the virus
and demanding an in-person format left the Commission on Presidential
Debates with no choice but to cancel. After the chaos of the last
debate, it seems like the president would rather spend his time
talking directly to his supporters -- [ [link removed] ]like yesterday when he held
a mask-optional Trump rally outside the White House.
* Just because Trump is getting desperate doesn’t mean we’re getting
comfortable. [ [link removed] ]With so much on the line, do your part and mobilize
your friends by signing our pledge to Triple your Vote! After you’ve
had powerful conversations with the people in your life, [ [link removed] ]join us
to talk to voters all over the country by signing up to phonebank with
Windivisible.

The GOP is still moving ahead with ACB’s nomination

As if taking back the Senate wasn’t important enough already, the start of
an illegitimate SCOTUS confirmation hearing just a few weeks before the
election makes it undeniably crucial. We’re driving calls to key senators’
offices to build up the pressure, so they know we demand and deserve
senators who will fight for our rights, not ones who will just fall in
line with Trump and confirm his nominee. These calls are crucial to
protecting our rights by protecting the Supreme Court from a right-wing
majority.

We know this is a fight we can win, so we’ve invested an emergency $20,000
spend on ads to recruit callers in states with persuadable senators. That
$20k wasn’t in our budget at the beginning of September, so we need your
help make up the difference: [ [link removed] ]can you make a one-time $10 donation to
fund our Supreme Court ads and all the crucial work we’re doing?

 We owe it to her

[ [link removed] ][IMG]

Indivisibles didn’t waste a second letting their senators know that this
is a sham confirmation hearing. Protestors, like this group from
Indivisible Brooklyn, have been gathering outside of the Supreme Court to
be heard. We’ve said it many times and we’ll say it again: we can win this
fight. We are grateful for everyone who has done their part -- whether you
made calls to senators or showed up to a protest, by adding your voice
you’re making sure they can hear us. Let’s get loud.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
