She’s long been a favorite target for conservatives — from President Trump’s calls to “lock her up” at a Minnesota rally, to Hank’s opponent Johsie Cruz, who wants to reopen the House Un-American Activities Committee to investigate Rep. Omar.
It’s no coincidence that Rep. Omar — a Muslim immigrant — is the target of such obsessive hatred and outright racism. The attacks keep coming, and with Trump and his cabal of sycophants desperately clinging onto power, they will only become more common, more painful and more dangerous.

At his last rally before being sidelined with COVID-19, Donald Trump unleashed a string of vicious attacks against Ilhan Omar in her own home state.
Trump’s cruel words inspired even more death threats on social media against Rep. Omar from his base of supporters. And when he tested positive for the coronavirus, she told the truth when stating that if the roles were reversed, Trump would've jumped at the opportunity to kick Joe Biden while he was down.
Ilhan Omar has every right to push back against the backlash she received in the wake of Trump’s COVID-19 diagnosis, when such sympathy, civility, and pleasantries are never afforded to her. She is a victim of baseless lies and falsehoods, and we have to join Hank to show her that we have her back.
