I want to make sure you saw what's at stake, John -

Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee started the absurd process of confirming President Trump's extremist, anti-abortion Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett. Not only are Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump ignoring the will of the voters, but they've also shown they'll do anything to overturn Roe v. Wade.

We urgently need to fight back and expand a Democratic majority in our state legislature that will overturn New Mexico's outdated abortion laws. That's why I'm setting an emergency goal of 100 new donors before midnight:

John, will you rush $5 or more - anything you can pitch in now - to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in New Mexico, flip critical state legislative seats and STOP the dangerous Trump agenda?

Subject: What happens if Roe v. Wade is overturned

John -

We were already facing the most important election of our lifetimes this November to defeat Donald Trump. Now, with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing, everything is at stake - including reproductive rights here in New Mexico.

At this very moment, Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump are trying to force through an ultraconservative, anti-abortion nominee who will overturn Roe v. Wade without giving voters a chance to have their say.

I won't mince words: If Roe v. Wade is overturned, New Mexico has outdated laws on the books that make abortion illegal and performing abortions a felony. The Supreme Court vacancy battle has real and severe consequences for New Mexico families we cannot ignore.

Now, news outlets are reporting McConnell already has the votes he needs to force this nightmare scenario. We need to do everything we can to protect reproductive rights, John.

The only way we can roll back these outdated, punitive laws is if we protect and expand our Democratic majority in the state legislature. That's why my team set a goal to get 150 new donors by midnight tonight to deliver huge wins up and down the ballot for New Mexico Democrats. But with just hours to go, we're falling 31 donors short:

Hitting this goal is so important that a group of generous donors has offered to match every dollar up to our midnight goal. John, can I count on you to give $5 or more now - every dollar you can spare to have doubled - to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, protect reproductive rights in New Mexico and stop the Trump agenda?

Reproductive health decisions should be made by a woman and her health care provider - not forced upon her by a far-right Supreme Court. If Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump get their way, women's access to birth control and reproductive health care could be stripped away in an instant.

That's why I urgently hope you'll join me in this fight. Too much is at stake to sit on the sidelines this November. Thanks for fighting with me.

Michelle
