Today the Senate begins its confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
No matter the outcome, I will continue to defend our values, uphold the rule of law, and protect Washingtonians from harm.
I’m asking for your support today so that we can stay on track with our campaign goals and focus on holding this administration accountable. We need to raise $23,000 this week. Can you make a contribution today?
Let me give you one example of what’s at stake — marriage equality is in danger if the court tips out of balance.
In 2017, I brought the Arlene’s Flowers case — a major civil rights case — to protect same-sex couples from the indignity of discrimination. I personally argued the case before the Washington State Supreme Court. We won a 9-0 victory.
Now the Alliance Defending Freedom, an “anti-LGBTQ hate group” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn our victory. If they succeed, it will set back marriage equality and undermine our core American values.
Whether or not Amy Coney Barrett is appointed, the Arlene’s Flowers case may be decided at the Supreme Court next year. My opponent does not support this lawsuit. He cannot be trusted to defend our civil rights before the Supreme Court.
As Washington's Attorney General, I will protect the rights of all Americans — especially if our highest court tips dangerously out of balance.
Will you support my re-election by making a contribution right now? I’m going to need the help of all my supporters to win this election and continue this critical work.
Thank you,
Bob
