Today, the U.S. Senate officially began hearings in the confirmation process for President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

Despite the fact that three Republican senators, including two who sit on the Judiciary Committee, tested positive for coronavirus, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is pushing full speed ahead to confirm this far-right judge to the highest court in the land before Election Day on November 3.

Instead of focusing on passing additional pandemic relief for Americans who are deeply struggling, McConnell and the GOP are solely focused on ramming through their nominee to establish a 6-3 conservative court before Americans can make their voices heard and elect a new president.

So much is at stake in this fight for the Supreme Court, from affordable health care for millions of people and protections for pre-existing conditions — which will go before the the Court just one week after the election — to the right to an abortion, to our voting rights, to marriage equality, and so much more.

Just as he did during the Kavanaugh hearings, Cory will put up a fight for the American people and oppose this far-right nominee to the Supreme Court just days out from Election Day. He believes what the majority of Americans believe: no confirmation before inauguration.
