Friend,
Our country should be proud of the strides we’ve made when it comes to equality — but those struggles are far from over.
The battle for equality continues and will be never-ending, but we can't let that stop us.
If the county clerk still has a say in marrying the person you love, or when men are dictating women’s reproductive rights — the fight isn’t over.
That’s why advancing civil rights and discrimination protections is such an important part of why I’m running for the United States Senate. My entire life I’ve been working to level the playing field so every person has a fair shot at building the life they deserve. In my business, in the classroom, on the field and in my faith — I’ve fought those fights, and never backed down.
Sign the petition if you agree that we must continue to advance the fight for civil rights and anti-discrimination>>
Every community deserves access to the same schools, business/career opportunities, programs and more that have helped me and my business thrive. I also recognize that as a white man from a middle-class background, I have been incredibly privileged. It is a major reason why I continue to give back — to fight, resist, confront and challenge discrimination in all its forms.
That's why I was a co-founder of AMOS (A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy), an organization that organizes people to have conversations about issues in our communities and to come together to respond to the concerns and pressures that are being felt — all while bridging the divisions of race, religion, and socioeconomic status, and discovering the passions and concerns that unite us all.
For years, I’ve stood proudly as an ally. In the Senate, I’ll fight for civil rights & discrimination protections that will:
-
Protect the right to vote for everyone: Pushing federal policies that guarantee access to the ballot box
-
Passing a 21st Century Equal Rights Amendment: Extending civil rights protections to women and members of the LGBTQ+ community
-
Confirm federal judges that respect civil and reproductive rights: Voting for federal judges that recognize that equal protection applies to all Americans and that will protect a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions, and respect the Constitution
There is still so much more work to do to achieve this dream.
The lives of women, people of color, members of our LGBTQ+ community, religious minorities, and tribal populations of our country are depending on it.
Thanks for your support,
Eddie
