This week, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in the Texas v. Azar case -- in which a three-judge panel will determine the fate of the Affordable Care Act in a suit brought by 18 state attorneys general with support from the Trump Administration.
If they succeed, 20 million Americans could lose their health insurance -- including 26,000 in Minnesota's Third District -- and millions more would lose protections for pre-existing conditions.
If you thought the backlash to Republican attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act in last year's election would prevent them trying to do so again, we wouldn't blame you. But they'll stop at nothing to repeal this law -- no matter how many people are harmed.
As Dean always says, we should make the moral decision to ensure every American has affordable, high quality care when they need it. Repealing the ACA would represent a huge step in the wrong direction. It's time to sound the alarm bells -- before it's too late.
