We are SO CLOSE to winning the strongest statewide Anti Rent-Gouging and Just Cause Eviction Protection bill in the nation.
Governor Gavin Newsom has committed to signing this bill - but now it needs to overcome one FINAL hurdle: the Assembly, through a process known as concurrence which will happen as soon as tomorrow. There are 10 Assemblymembers who are still on the fence and they need to hear from you!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. THIS IS A BIG DEAL.
For all of you that supported Proposition 10 - this is not only the repeal of a bad restriction on rent control - this is the active restriction on apartment owners and corporate landlords from gouging families or arbitrarily evicting them for the sake of profit. With homelessness increasing across the state, this is a huge step toward slowing the tide of displacement and keeping families in their homes!

Today's vote is a testament to the growing power of the tenant’s rights movement in California. If passed, after it's most recent and final amendments, AB 1482 will cap rent increases statewide by 5% plus the the cost of inflation and provide just cause eviction protections to 17 million renters statewide.
