More Fake News
The Deep State is at it again.
CNN reporter Jim Sciutto broke a story yesterday alleging that the CIA was forced to extract a high-level Kremlin informant out of Moscow because President Trump was careless with classified information in the presence of the Russian ambassador and foreign minister.
Sciutto, by the way, is a former Obama appointee. But we're told there's no bias at the Clinton News Network! Not surprisingly, it turns out that the main thrust of Sciutto's report -- the focus on Trump -- is entirely wrong.
The CIA, which doesn't like to comment on anything, issued a scathing statement blasting CNN's reporting as "misguided," "inaccurate" and "simply false."
In fact, it was so bad that the New York Times ran its own report refuting CNN.
The truth is that the decision to "exfiltrate" this agent out of Russia was made in 2016 -- before Trump was president, and due entirely to concerns that media coverage of Russian meddling in the election would blow his cover.
The agent initially refused the offer to leave Moscow, but changed his mind in 2017 after the media's delusional coverage of the Russia collusion hoax.
In other words, it was CNN and the rest of the left-wing media, not Trump, who put this spy's life in jeopardy! Yet CNN is trying to blame Trump.
Rep. Doug Collins, the ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, is calling for an investigation to find out who leaked information about this covert operation.
On "Fox & Friends" this morning, Molly Hemmingway suggested that Sciutto's story sounds like an attempt by nervous elements of the Deep State to point fingers and redirect blame.
Why would they be doing that? Perhaps because the investigations being conducted by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz and U.S. Attorney John Durham are starting to get close to the sources of the Russian collusion hoax.
Stay tuned!
Honoring Our Heroes
At a White House ceremony yesterday, President Trump honored the first responders, police officers and civilians who assisted the victims of last month's horrific shootings in El Paso and Dayton. Below are some excerpts of the president's remarks.
"Today, I'm honored to welcome you to the White House as we recognize 11 extraordinary American heroes. These incredible patriots responded to the worst violence and most barbaric hatred with the best of American courage, character, and strength.
"Faced with grave and harrowing threats, the men and women standing behind us stepped forward to save the lives of their fellow Americans. . . The light from these intrepid souls defied the darkness and confronted the most sinister danger. . .
"One month ago, America witnessed horror beyond belief. On Saturday, August 3rd, at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, the soulless and bigoted monster killed 22 innocent people and wounded 27 others. It happened very quickly. It was a racist attack motivated by pure evil hatred. The next day, in Dayton, Ohio, a vile and wicked murderer stole 9 lives and injured 34 others.
"Our nation is shocked and enraged by these inhuman and sadistic acts of bloodshed. We fail to comprehend how any person could be so warped by malice and contempt. Every heart breaks for the families who lost precious loved ones, and every American grieves for those who were so cruelly taken from us.
"In the midst of such profound anguish, one memory fills us with hope: When evil showed its hideous face, Americans of all walks of life rose up — and they did. They rose up, they defied fear, they stared down death to protect the innocent — and stand tall they did, just for righteous and for good."

Hong Kong Loves America
Thousands of Hong Kong students marched to the U.S. consulate over the weekend, many waving American flags and singing our national anthem, urging President Trump to intervene in their fight with Beijing.
I'm not advocating that we should intervene. There's no way we could other than through various economic measures, many of which the president is already using to confront China on its unfair trade practices and national security threats.
But I was struck watching these scenes unfolding in Hong Kong.
Progressives in this country routinely insist that America is an evil country that was never great. Sadly, many young Americans have bought that lie.
Yet students in Hong Kong, who have never been indoctrinated by American leftists, still see America as their greatest hope. That speaks volumes about the sorry state of our educational system today.
In a recent interview with CNN, Justice Neil Gorsuch put it well, saying:
"This country has been through a lot of challenges and always risen resiliently to them. Whether it's the civil rights movement, surviving through our Civil War or today's challenges. Whatever they may be, I've got great confidence in America and I say to those who don't: 'Look elsewhere. Where else would you rather be?'"
