CDC data from 23 states found that American Indians and Alaska Natives are experiencing COVID-19 infections at a rate three times higher than whites -- a number that would likely be even more staggering if there weren’t an “excessive absence of [COVID-19] data” for Native populations.
Trump is to blame -- at every turn, he’s chosen his ego over the health and safety of American citizens. Whether he’s forcing reporters to take off their masks or blocking CDC orders to protect his personal business in Florida, he’s made it clear that his own status and profit are more important than the people he serves.
The Trump administration isn’t doing anything to help, and Native communities are suffering each day that no action is taken. On Indigenous People’s Day, we’re demanding visibility and action for our threatened Native communities -- but we need your help. We need to know:
