Only 22 Days Until Election Day!
Ready or not, it's time, Indian River County!
Even as Joe Biden is telling America that we "don't deserve" to know his intent with regard to Court Packing, the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on the appointment of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court begin today. This despite the fact that Joe Biden has declared the appointment unconstitutional -- don't worry, it isn't! Will the disgrace of the unfounded accusations of the Kavanaugh hearings be repeated? Will the Democrats try to impose a religious test despite the Constitutional prohibition against religious tests for judges found in Art. VI, clause 3? It should be noted that when hearings were held for Judge Barrett's appointment to the Court of Appeals, that is exactly what happened!

At least the media is finally pestering Biden and Harris over something -- their refusal to answer whether they intend to pack the Court and fundamentally change an institution of American government that has had the same form, 9 justices, since an Act of Congress set it as such in 1869. The real problem the Democrats have is that from 1938 until Justice Kavanaugh was seated, the Court had a liberal majority, due in large part to the fact that FDR broke tradition and ran for third and fourth terms. The FDR problem was addressed via Constitutional Amendment, but by 1945, 8 out of 9 justices had been appointed by one President. It has taken over 75 years for the pendulum to swing back from that distortion of the Court. In the interim, Democrats have grown accustomed to "owning" the Court, and are insulted by the concept that it could actually have a conservative majority. But elections DO have consequences, and the Court does now have a conservative majority, and is no longer an unelected superlegislature for liberal ideas that cannot win at the ballot box or in Congress.

And THAT is why this election is so important. Three more weeks. Time to work hard, and harvest every last vote for the cause! We can, and we MUST do it!
