Dear John,

We're simply disappointed.

Just before the Labor Day weekend, the Legislature convened for a one-day session to consider a number of bond proposals, including critical funding for the Land for Maine's Future (LMF) program.

Despite LMF's widespread popularity and the sustained activism of MCV supporters and our allies across the state, a minority in the State House blocked the proposal from appearing on the ballot this November.

This result means that the LMF program will remain unfunded yet again — but our fight is far from over. When the legislature reconvenes in January, MCV will be at the State house, pushing lawmakers to make LMF a top priority for 2020. In the meantime, click here to find out how your lawmakers voted, then send a letter to thank them or to express your disappointment >> [link removed]

Maine has missed an important opportunity to make smart investments in the Land for Maine’s Future program that would have helped protect high value conservation and recreational lands as well as working waterfronts and valuable farms in our state.

Land for Maine’s Future is a popular and effective program that earns the overwhelming support of Maine voters time and again and has protected more than 600,000 acres of some of Maine's most beautiful and important natural and recreational areas in all 16 counties across the state.

Please join us to share your disappointment with your lawmakers, or send a quick note to thank them for working to protect the Maine we love. Urge them to support the LMF bond when they return in January >> [link removed]

Thank you for your activism.

-Beth
