In just a minute, I'm going to ask you to make a donation to my campaign. I hope you'll give me a chance to explain why this request -- especially right now -- is so important.

This Wednesday at midnight, we have our final FEC deadline of this entire campaign. This will be the last time we publicly report our fundraising numbers before election day -- so all eyes will be on us.

In addition, a new poll came out last week showing this race is a statistical tie. At this point in the race, that is far too close for comfort.

John, our campaign raises money differently. We're powering our work through tens of thousands of individual donations, mostly small donations, from people who know how important it is to win this Senate seat and replace Mitch McConnell as Majority Leader.

I'm proud of that fact -- but it does mean I have to ask:

I wouldn't be asking if this were not so important. But we are in the final stretch before election day and rapidly running out of time to do the hard work we need to win. So this is an incredibly important request -- especially with our upcoming FEC deadline.
