Hey, did you catch Sarah’s email?

The Trump administration wants to let government contractors use their religion to discriminate against employees. You have less than a week left to oppose it.

The public comment period for this proposed rule ends at 11:59 pm on Monday, September 16. If you want to make a difference, the time to act is right now!

That includes someone who is LGBTQ, a single pregnant woman, or a religious minority or nontheist who doesn’t share their boss’s religious beliefs.

Time is running out, friend. We need you to make your voice heard right away.

Subject: Your Religion isn’t your Boss’s Business

Friend,

A few short weeks ago, the Trump administration proposed a new rule that would allow government contractors to use any religious litmus test they want to discriminate in employment.

The Department of Labor is now collecting public comments on this rule – both for and against it – until September 16th. This is your chance to voice your opinion to the government directly.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Our advocacy team has drafted a comment that you can edit and expand in your own personal voice. Read it here: [link removed]

2. Submit your comment with one click and it will be automatically delivered to the DOL.

3. Once published in the public record your comment will be reviewed by the DOL – and it could impact the final rule, potentially limiting this proposed discrimination.

It was only yesterday that we celebrated the American labor movement, which led the charge against employment discrimination. The Department of Labor is supposed to be our ally in that fight. Instead, it is attempting to sanction discrimination in the name of religion.

LGBTQ people, single mothers, and anyone who doesn’t share their employer’s religious beliefs would be at risk of losing their government-funded jobs or not getting hired for a government-funded job if this rule goes through.

The September 16 deadline is just two weeks away, friend. If you want to see this proposed rule defeated, the time to act is now.
