2020 has certainly been a year of unexpected twists and turns and I’m about to tell you one more: there’s a growing chance that Biden could FLIP the state of TEXAS in the presidential race this year!
You read that correctly. According to the latest data out from Public Policy Polling, Biden is AHEAD of Trump in polls by one percent! If Biden can flip Texas this November, it will be virtually impossible for Trump to make up for such a massive loss in the Electoral College.1
In a recent interview, former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke noted that since the last presidential election, more than 1.5 million Texans have registered to vote, and if Democrats can pull one million more voters this year, they can WIN the state.2
And not only is the presidential race close in Texas, but multiple polls show M.J. Hegar within striking distance of Republican Senator John Cornyn! If voters are able to flip the state for Biden and put an end to Cornyn’s Senate career, it would be one of the biggest political upsets of 2020!
Republicans know there is a chance that Texas could flip this election, which is why their governor, Greg Abbott, is attempting to suppress votes by restricting the number of absentee ballot drop-off locations to ONE PER COUNTY! That leaves counties with major urban areas like Harris County (home to Houston, TX), with over 4 million residents just ONE DROPBOX for ballots.
This is blatant voter suppression because Republicans know there is incredible momentum working against them and the only way for them to win is to prevent people from voting.
