Here's the fact of the matter, Friend: The GOP is waging an all-out war on women's reproductive freedom.

As you read this, Mitch McConnell is doing everything in his power to ram Donald Trump's right-wing, anti-choice Supreme Court nominee through an illegitimate Senate confirmation process – posing the greatest existential threat to Roe v. Wade we've ever seen.

Meanwhile, 20 Republican senators recently sent a letter to the FDA urging them to ban the abortion pill, dishonestly calling it "dangerous" and "deadly". That's simply not true. This medication has been proven entirely safe after decades of research. Considering the United States has the highest maternal mortality rate in the developed world, this pill saves women's lives.

These attacks on women's most fundamental human rights are absolutely despicable, and each and every one of us must fight them at every turn. Since my days clerking for Justice Harry Blackman I have never let up in this fight, and I never will – but I need you to stand with me today.

Can I count on you to sign the petition now to demand the Senate enact full protection for reproductive medical care?

The GOP's threats to Roe v. Wade and women's access to reproductive health care are potentially deadly – and even more so while we continue to battle the coronavirus pandemic. That's why we need to fight their onslaught of restrictions as hard as we can, which includes opposing this Supreme Court confirmation.

Throughout my entire career, I have fought to protect and promote women's healthcare and the reproductive decisions that they and only they should be making – without any government interference. I won't stop now. In the face of these unprecedented threats, I'm counting on you to join me.
