Hi John,
I’m reaching out to you today with a unique opportunity to support two of the most competitive House races on the map this year: My race here in Maine’s 2nd District, and my friend Max Rose’s race in New York’s 11th District.
Max and I share a lot in common. We’re both proud veterans, having answered the call to service after the 9/11 terror attacks. We’re both freshman members of Congress representing intensely competitive districts. And as roommates in Washington, we both share the same address.
The similarity I’m most proud to share with Max, however, is our political independence. We’re not afraid of bucking party leaders or working across the aisle to get things done for our constituents, and we both believe that country must always come before party.
But, there’s still one more important similarity between Max and I: We’re both up against a mountain of dark money and special interest cash in our bids for re-election this year.
We are proudly running grassroots campaigns, so today I’m asking you to chip in not only to my campaign, but also to my friend Max’s in NY-11. By donating to our joint fund, your contribution will automatically be split between our two campaigns →
I couldn’t be prouder to work with Max every day in Congress.
His commitment to his constituents is absolute, just like mine is to the people of Maine’s 2nd District.
That kind of commitment is what we need to find solutions for the many crises we’re facing right now -- not more blind partisanship or business-as-usual gridlock politics.
But like Max would tell you himself, we’re both up against some deeply partisan groups who are spending big to make sure our independent leadership is not sent back to Congress next year.
Can you help us both fight back and win our races by chipping in any amount right now? If you contribute to our joint fund, your donation will benefit both of our campaigns -- doubling your impact for two of the most competitive House races in the country.
On behalf of both Max and myself, thanks so much for all you do.
