Friends,
The New York Times reports Trump’s lies about voter fraud are taking an even more dangerous turn: “Republicans are putting together an army of Trump supporters to monitor election procedures.”
At the first debate, more than 73 million people watched Trump urge his supporters to “go into the polls and watch very carefully,” refuse to denounce white supremacy, and advise the extremist Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by” on Election Day.
Now Trump’s words are turning into action as the GOP furthers its plot to steal the election. Earlier this year, a Trump campaign lawyer told conservative groups about their scheme to “leverage about 50,000 volunteers all the way through, from early vote through Election Day, to be able to watch the polls.”
Republicans will continue to spew lies that they’re just protecting the democratic process, but voter rights groups and constitutional experts are calling this out for what it is: voter intimidation. We firmly believe this, and we need to know where you stand, too. So please let us know -- and let all of America know -- how wrong this is right now:
Do you condemn the GOP’s poll watchers?
Thank you for standing with us,
