John,
Right now, the Trump administration and 18 Republican-run states are fighting in federal court to have the Affordable Care Act (ACA) declared unconstitutional. If they win, insurance companies will once again be able to deny people living with pre-existing conditions coverage. Small businesses will lose tax credits that help them grow and flourish while still providing employees with health insurance. And the flexibility of allowing young Americans to remain on their parents' insurance plan until the age of 26 will be eliminated. As the only woman doctor in the House, Dr. Kim Schrier is fighting to stop all of these improvements from being ripped away and keep access to affordable healthcare a right for everyone -- but she needs your help. Kim wants to hear directly from you about how the ACA has helped you, your family, or your friends. Will you take a moment to add your name to help protect the ACA or share your story? As a doctor and a person living with Type 1 diabetes, the Republican attacks on healthcare are personal -- to Kim and to her patients. Before Kim ran for Congress, she went to meet with her representative's staff to explain all the ways "Trumpcare" would be bad for her patients, bad for the district, and bad for the country. Two days later, he voted to repeal the ACA, and it was the last straw. That's when she decided that, if her representative wasn't going to listen and stand up for the people in the 8th District, she was going to run and make sure folks had someone in Congress who would. Kim wants to bring your story with her as she fights for affordable healthcare for everyone. So please, if you're willing to do so, add your name to protect the ACA or share your story on how access to affordable care has impacted your life. Thank you, Team Schrier Contributions or gifts to Dr. Kim Schrier for Congress are not tax deductible.
