We need your help to flip a Michigan Congressional seat blue! Please contribute to progressive candidate Jon Hoadley’s campaign.

Friend,
We need more people in Congress who will not stop fighting for everyday people. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Jon Hoadley to become the next Congressmember from Michigan’s 6th district.
The first openly LGBTQ+ person to run for Congress in Michigan, Jon’s victory would flip one of our crucial congressional seats blue.
His race against long-term incumbent Republican Fred Upton is close—which is why Republican Super PACs have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on homophobic attack ads and mailers to voters. As the LGBTQ Victory Fund said: We “must invest in Jon’s race financially so we can show bigoted politicians that anti-gay attacks will backfire and fail.”
Donate now to Jon Hoadley’s campaign to flip Michigan’s 6th district blue and stand up to bigoted Republicans.
As one of the first Muslim women in Congress, I deeply identify with Jon’s statement that “I'm not running to make history, I'm running to make change.” We don’t run for office because of our identities, but because we want to make the world better for everyone.
Like me, Jon believes in putting people and community at the center of our government decision-making.
In his six years as a State Representative, he’s prioritized listening to the needs of the community and being accessible to the people he represents. He’s introduced legislation to expand access to healthcare and to fight toxic chemicals like PFAS, which is a top priority of mine, too.
Meanwhile, his opponent Fred Upton, who’s held the seat since 1987, is against the Affordable Care Act and against environmental regulations. Upton doesn’t even think climate change is an issue.
Despite running against a long-term Republican in a moderate district, Jon has not been shy about supporting the Green New Deal and Medicare for All. And the race is close!
Improving our healthcare system is personal for Jon. Since his husband Kris got diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) a few years ago, they’ve had to navigate complicated insurance and medical bills.
If the GOP dismantles the Affordable Care Act—a real threat right now—then insurance companies could kick Kris off insurance for having a pre-existing condition. And without insurance, his prescription drugs could cost $7,200/month.

Jon needs our support to win this election and fight for all of us in Congress.
Can you donate now to support Jon Hoadley so he can join me in Congress to fight for affordable healthcare and clean air and water?
Thank you,
Rashida
