Arizona for Bernie 2020
The Arizona for Bernie 2020 coalition has been hard at work all summer long and is ramping up organizing efforts in September, with lots of volunteer opportunities throughout the month. Most importantly, Saturday the 21st is the Fall kickoff door-to-door canvass in Tempe from 10am-1pm. We want this to be a huge event, so RSVP and tell your friends! Climate Action
On Friday, September 20, Phoenix DSA will be participating in the Climate March at the Arizona State Capitol to represent our position on the Green New Deal as voted on at DSA convention. Beforehand, we will also be meeting to make posters and discuss a socialist message on climate justice. Please join us there!
Tell Greg Stanton to support Medicare for All
This Friday, September 13, Join us for a long-awaited meeting with CD9 Congressman Greg Stanton to share our healthcare stories, answer policy questions, and ask him to cosponsor HR1384: The Medicare for All act of 2019. The American healthcare system is broken and we need our politicians to commit to real reform, which is why we need everyone to join us at Stanton's office. We especially encourage CD-9 constituents to come let Stanton know Medicare for All has broad and deep support in his district. We will be both inside and outside the office. Can't make the meeting? Socialist Night School
Join us on Wednesday, September 25 at 7pm, at the ASU Memorial Union in Tempe for an accessible but rigorous discussion of Marxist Philosophy. Stay tuned for further updates here. The full syllabus and links to all readings can be found online here. Following discussion of the reading material, we’ll be meeting up for drinks, food, and camaraderie. Both first-timers and night school veterans are all encouraged to attend.
Donate to Phoenix DSA!
Phoenix DSA needs your help to fund our organizing work! We have active campaigns to win Medicare for All and elect Bernie Sanders for President, with canvasses, tables, and town halls happening basically every week, and also monthly political education seminars to deepen our understanding of socialist politics. We also organize around actions like Abolish ICE and Climate Strike marches, bringing our socialist messaging and analysis to these issues.
