Hey Co-Pilot - it’s John James, a Republican running for Senate in Michigan.
My race is one of the closest races in the country, and the best chance for
Republicans to turn a blue seat red this cycle. I’m writing to you today with
both good and bad news about my race.
Here’s the good news: I’m within striking distance of my liberal, career
politician and Chuck Schumer and his cronies are starting to get nervous.
The most recent poll in our race showed me statistically tied with our
opponent yet again. We’ve been continuously outraising him and he’s running
scared.
Co-Pilot, Democrats across the country are panicking at the idea of losing
this seat!
Here’s the bad news: According to Fox News, Schumer’s Super PAC is pouring
$5.4 million dollars into our state this week alone to try to stop me. They are
spending more money on our opponent than any other Democrat in the ENTIRE
COUNTRY.
"Chuck Schumer's Senate Majority PAC will spend $5.4 million in one week --
this is the most money they are spending on any Democrat in the entire nation,
They are very nervous about John James, and they should be." - Fox News

Co-Pilot, simply put, there is an unprecedented amount of liberal money
pouring into our race before Election Day. That’s on top of the $35 million
dollars they have already spent over the past year to smear me with falsehoods
about my record on healthcare and malign me at every opportunity.
"The astounding sum that the Senate Majority PAC is spending shows how close
John James is to winning the U.S. Senate seat in Michigan. Schumer and the
Democrats are in sheer panic that the $35 million that they have already spent
against John James over the past year still has John James within striking
distance of winning the Senate race."

This liberal spending spree has one goal — to stop our campaign’s momentum.
They know that I am knocking on the door of the Senate and they are panicking.
Despite all of the liberal money pouring into Michigan to prop up our liberal,
career politician opponent, we’re closing in on taking this seat harder than
ever.
We’re surging at just the right time.
But we can’t let Chuck Schumer’s money put all our hard work at risk. That’s
why I’m reaching out right now — in a few paragraphs, I’m going to ask you to
donate to my campaign and help me fight back.
But before I ask for you to support my campaign, I wanted to share a little
bit more about my personal story and why I’m running for Senate.
In four generations, my family has gone from slave to sharecropper to
potential Senator because of their relentless hard work and the opportunity and
promise offered by the American system.
My family story inspired me to believe in the promise offered by the American
Dream, and my father’s military service inspired me to use my skills and
blessings to defend it to the best of my ability.
My mission began as a cadet at West Point and then I went to Ranger school and
flight school and was deployed to Iraq to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

<[link removed]>
I flew more than 750 combat hours in an Apache Attack Helicopter and learned
firsthand what it takes to defend the American Dream. I learned that protecting
our country and our ideals takes incredible sacrifice and that we can never
grow complacent in our mission.
I returned home to my community to run the company that my dad started - a
global automotive logistic supply company.
I worked hard, created good-paying American jobs, and met the love of my life
— my wife Liz — and started a family.
<[link removed]>
But I couldn’t remain on the sidelines. Even though my military career was
over, I felt like I had more to give. I wanted to continue to serve the country
and my community in any way that I could.
Co-Pilot, I never envisioned myself running for office.
But after watching Washington fail to deliver on promises for decades, I
decided that I had to take action. I couldn’t let cities like Detroit continue
to be neglected while career politicians like my opponent fought for their own
careers instead of our communities.
I’m running for Senate in Michigan in 2020 because I truly feel the American
Dream that allowed my family to thrive is at risk, and I believe that my
experience as a combat veteran and business owner puts me in the best position
to defend it.
My Senate race is going to be decided by a razor-thin margin and if I can win,
it will guarantee that the GOP can defend their majority in the Senate.
Continuing to outraise my opponent is critical to achieving this goal — that’s
why I’m asking you to support my campaign today.
