New Polling: Democrats Leading in MT and NC Senate Races, within Striking Distance in Texas
Our latest Progressive Senate Project polling ([link removed]) is live, and it shows Democrat Steve Bullock with a narrow one-point lead in Montana over Republican incumbent Steve Daines! We also show Democrat Cal Cunningham with a commanding double-digit edge in North Carolina over Republican incumbent Thom Tillis. And in Texas, while Democrat MJ Hegar trails Republican incumbent John Cornyn, she’s narrowed this margin to three points.

Furthermore, Trump’s decision to halt stimulus talks to focus on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett could hurt Republicans’ chances still further in these states. In a new blog post ([link removed]) , we show that a clear majority of voters in each of these states want the Senate to prioritize passing a new stimulus over confirming a Supreme Court justice.

Memo: Voters Support Using the Congressional Review Act to Reverse Trump Era Deregulation
President Trump has deregulated everything from the environment to banking to healthcare. But Democrats have a real shot at achieving a trifecta of power this November — control of the presidency, Senate, and House — and they can use that power to undo these rollbacks.

In a new memo ([link removed]) , we show how legislators can use the Congressional Review Act (CRA), a 1996 law allowing Congress to overturn federal regulations finalized within the past 60 legislative days, to reverse Trump’s rollbacks. And voters are on board:
* 65 percent of voters support using the CRA to restore a rule requiring oil and gas companies to monitor and fix methane leaks.
* 63 percent of voters want to use the CRA to limit banks’ abilities to make potentially risky investments.
* 59 percent of voters support using the CRA to require the government to evaluate the environmental impacts of proposed major infrastructure projects.
* 54 percent of voters want to use the CRA to require insurers and healthcare providers to cover medically appropriate treatment for transgender patients.

Sean McElwee in Vox: How to Actually Make a Difference this Election
Are you looking to donate money towards progressive victories this November, but are not sure where your dollars would be most effective? Last week, DFP co-founder Sean McElwee spoke with Vox’s Matt Yglesias last week about where you should donate your money to make the biggest possible impact. Some of the best options include highly-competitive Senate and state legislature races, our Fuck Gerry(mandering) Fund ([link removed]) , and the GiveSmart Fund ([link removed]) .

* DFP for Crooked: Taking on Big Pharma Can Help Biden Win in a Landslide: Joe Biden has opened up a big lead on President Trump — but it could be even larger if he took the “Scranton vs. Park Avenue” mantra a step further to target Big Pharma.
In a new Crooked piece ([link removed]) , we explain how a TV ad we tested in Iowa, North Carolina, Maine, and Arizona about Big Pharma’s greed swings, on average, 5.8 percent of voters towards the Democratic Senate candidate in those four states. It was especially persuasive with older voters, young voters, and Trump voters.

* Memo: How Cities Can Protect Workers from Wage Theft: Wage theft costs low-wage American workers more than $50 billion every year. But Americans are extremely supportive of reforms. In a new memo, we show that ([link removed]) 73 percent of voters, including 74 percent of Republicans, support withholding city contracts and other financial incentives from employers who commit wage theft.
We also found 73 percent support for publicizing employers who were found to have engaged in wage theft and 72 percent support for local governments creating a Wage Theft Enforcement Commission.
