** 2020 Indigenous Community Media Youth Fellowship Call for Proposals

Cultural Survival is pleased to announce its call for proposals for the 2020 Indigenous Community Media Youth Fellowship that will support Indigenous youth communicators in building their capacity as radio broadcasters and journalists through specific trainings, community radio visits and exchanges, radio production, conference attendance, and other educational opportunities. Applicants must reside in one of the following: Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Nepal and northern India.

Our Fellowship project provides eight fellowships to Indigenous youth communicators between the ages of 16-26. Fellowships are limited to $2,500 US dollars per fellow within the period range of 8-10 months from the award date. Preferences is given to current or recent volunteer applicants or radio associates from the Community Media Grants Project. Applicants must be able to work and travel independently and be responsible for implementing their proposed projects. The fellows will work jointly with a Cultural Survival staff member and a personal local mentor, who will provide support throughout the fellowship process. Learn more. ([link removed])

Cultural Survival se complace en anunciar su convocatoria de becas del programa de “Jóvenes Indígenas de Medios Comunitarios 2020” que apoyará a jóvenes Indígenas comunicadores en sus esfuerzos por desarrollar su capacidad como locutores de radio y como periodistas a través de capacitaciones específicas, pasantillas a otras radios comunitarias, producción radial, asistencia a conferencias y otras oportunidades en temas de educación y capacitación en comunicación. Los solicitantes deben residir de los territorios originarios en México, Centroamérica, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Chile, Namibia, Botswana, Sudáfrica, Nepal y el Norte de India.

Esta oportunidad proporcionará becas a ocho jóvenes Indígenas comunicadores/as entre 16 y 26 años de edad. Las becas serán de hasta un máximo de $2,500 dólares estadounidenses por becario. Los períodos de becas pueden variar entre 6 a 10 meses desde la fecha de su concesión. Se dará preferencia a los solicitantes voluntarios o asociados actuales o recientes de las radios beneficiadas de las Subvenciones para Medios Comunitarios de Cultural Survival. Los solicitantes deben poder trabajar y viajar de forma independiente y ser responsables de implementar su proyecto.
