I’m Lorena Garcia, and I’m a progressive Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Colorado. As a 7th generation Coloradan, my background mirrors the diversity of many families in Colorado and across the country. 

I’m a dedicated activist focused on economic equity and universal access to healthcare and education. A veteran organizer, I support women’s rights and protections for women’s reproductive freedom. I am also a champion for the LGBTQ community – my community.  

Here is a bit more about me: 

• I have worked tirelessly to uplift people my entire career, both locally as Executive Director at Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition, and internationally as Executive Director for an organization working in Nepal and Nicaragua to develop programs for economic self-sufficiency in local communities 
  
  
• I work directly with communities in Colorado that are impacted by draconian policies and a Senator who doesn’t work for them. I’m on the front lines of the issues facing too many of our fellow citizens 
  
  
• My opponent’s Senate seat has been identified as the most vulnerable, which means this is our best shot to flip the Senate and replace people like Betsy DeVos and Ben Carson, and begin the hard work of undoing the damage that’s been done.
  
  

This race is not just about Colorado. In 2020, we MUST win back four Senate seats. Regaining control of the Senate and stripping it from the current leadership intent on allowing this lawless administration to wreak havoc on our nation is priority one.
