John,
The shooter who murdered my beautiful butterfly Dylan took ten 30-round gun magazines into Sandy Hook Elementary. It only took him approximately four minutes to shoot 154 bullets, killing 20 students and six educators.
In an instant, my baby boy was gone forever.
In the time it took the shooter to pause and reload between magazines, 11 children were able to escape. I can't help but think about how, if those magazines were limited to just a fraction of the rounds, Dylan might still be alive today.
That's why I need your help right now. More than a year ago, a bill was introduced in Congress to limit the size of ammunition magazines to 10 rounds – but Congress has refused to even vote on it.
I know there's a lot going on right now, but we can't wait until after the election or the next school shooting to demand action. Children's lives are at risk every day Congress fails to pass this legislation. So please, will you sign our petition to help us reach 30,000 signatures this week, demanding Congress finally act before more lives are senselessly lost?
Please click here to sign our petition demanding Congress make high-capacity gun ammunition magazines illegal. We can't let up our pressure if we're going to pass this commonsense legislation that will help protect more children, like my baby boy, from gun violence.

Dylan continues to be a light in my life, and I will spend the rest of my days building a legacy for him that ensures his light continues to shine. By helping me in this work to protect children like him from gun violence, you're making that legacy possible.
Thank you so much – it truly means the world to me.
With love,
Nicole Hockley (Dylan's mom)
