Weds 21 October
Nottingham Playhouse
A staged reading of this brand new play.
Carly is a young Social Worker, conflicted by a case which triggers memories of her own childhood experiences in the care system. Her younger sister, who is white, was adopted by her âforever afterâ family, whilst Carly â who is Black, âmixed raceâ â remained in the care system.
This gripping and heartfelt new play seeks to explore issues around âraceâ and identity within the care system, and provoke discussions around sibling relationships and separation.
Rootless Island Baby is part of the Nottingham Playhouse Unlocked festival of live and live-streamed shows.
