DEVELOPING… control of the Senate could come down to what happens in Maine, and a new poll now puts the race within one point.

This is bad — really bad. This is a must-win race where we had been leading by large margins for months.

The challenge in Maine is that the polls still show a large number of split-ticket voters — that is, people planning to vote for Joe Biden (D) and Susan Collins (R).

Trump is unpopular in Maine right now — most polls have Biden ahead by a huge margin. That said, if enough Biden voters split their ticket and vote for Collins, she could hold on to her seat.

This is where we need your help. Collins has pretended to be a moderate while backing Trump's most anti-environment policies — she can't escape her voting record. Our plan is laser-focused — we're specifically going hard after these split-ticket voters, and the research shows our message will work if we have the resources to drive it home.

Early voting has already started in Maine — every day that passes is a missed opportunity to turn this around. We're hoping to scale up in Maine in a major way in the final weeks of the election — but as it stands, GOTV operations are still underfunded. If we scale up in Maine, it could mean scaling back somewhere else — in a race that is just as important. So we're asking: please, give now to rush resources to the key states where your donation can make the biggest impact.

A vote for Collins might as well be a vote for Trump at this point. She's backed Trump more than 90% of the time — that includes confirming Brett Kavanaugh. Her challenger, Sara Gideon, has the potential to be an incredible environmental senator — she's Maine's Speaker of the House and has helped pass strong legislation protecting air, land, and water in the state.

But winning in Maine won't mean much if we lose all the other swing Senate seats. Realistically, we also need to go all out in Colorado, North Carolina, Montana, Arizona, and Iowa if we're going to have a shot at an environmental majority.

We can pull this off, but it's going to take all of us pitching in. Each of these states are toss-ups right now, but in every single race, the environmental movement has a chance to decide the outcome.

Susan Collins in Maine. Joni Ernst in Iowa. Thom Tillis in North Carolina. Martha McSally in Arizona. Cory Gardner in Colorado. Steve Daines in Montana.

Every one of these senators has rubber-stamped Trump's agenda for the past four years. Every one of them has approved racist, anti-environment policies all the way through.

Trump is failing to meet this moment, and people are dying. But it's not just Trump — each of these senators are just as much to blame as Trump. Each has cast vote after vote to undermine racial and environmental justice in this country.

And most importantly, each of these senators are polling within a few points in races that can be decided by the environmental movement. What happens next is up to you.

Thank you for everything you do — we've got a real shot at this one, but it's only going to come together with your help.
