Hello John,

Next Wednesday, I'll be taking the debate stage with my opponent. In a moment I'm going to ask if you can pitch in to help us hit our $100,000 pre-debate goal, but first let me explain what's at stake in this debate, and why this goal is so important.

I've been working hard over the last four years for a North Carolina that works better for everyone.

That means Medicaid expansion, increased investments to rural broadband, and raises for our hard-working teachers - all critical issues before the pandemic, and now they're even more important.

Make no mistake: My extremist opponent has a dangerous agenda that will take North Carolina backward. He continues to oppose Medicaid expansion in the middle of a pandemic, and he said "masks don't work" against viruses.

This debate is a critical moment to present our vision of North Carolina to thousands of voters who haven't made up their minds yet. And the timing couldn't be more important - early voting starts the next morning, and we have the last public reporting deadline of the election on the 17th.

My finance team came up with an ambitious goal - if we can raise $100,000 by the debate, we'll be able to show that this grassroots team is fired up and ready to win right before early voting starts - and continue to fight back against the millions of dollars in negative ads the far-right is running against us.

Now that you know the stakes of this goal and this debate, can you pitch in your first grassroots contribution of $10 to help us hit our crucial pre-debate goal?
