It's official: the City of Auburn has our first ELECTRIC vehicle! This zippy little Nissan Leaf, which will be used by our Assessing team, is an important part of Auburn's efforts to move toward clean, renewable energy.

This vehicle was funded in part by the significant incentives offered through Efficiency Maine's EV program.

Soon, the City will also be purchasing 80% of our electricity requirements from a local hydro facility and a solar project currently under development. A portion of the power produced at the local hydro facility will supply power for both Auburn City Hall and for our parking garage! All of these initiatives will reduce our impact on the environment and save money.
