We have three high-priority goals for the fall to dismantle China’s control systems and advance freedom for Tibet. But we don’t have much time to get these projects underway.
As China’s international reputation weakens, this is the perfect time to press for freedom and dignity for Tibet by:
Helping Tibetans preserve their distinct religious, cultural and national identity by filling the State Department’s position of Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues with a strong advocate for Tibetan rights
Promoting open access and freedom of movement within Tibet by ensuring full implementation of the Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act
Advancing peaceful negotiation by insisting that all US-China diplomatic engagements include calls for resumed dialogue between China’s officials and envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama
This isn’t important just for Tibet, but for all peace-loving people worldwide. A gift for Tibet is a gift for freedom and justice—and a powerful stand against an authoritarian government.
Thank you for your solidarity as a person of compassion and conscience.
