As children head back to school across the country, some are worried about getting on the right school bus or finding their classroom on the first day. But too many of our kids are going back to school with more serious worries on their minds--things like hunger, illness, and even their own survival.

Back to school worries
I'm too hungry to concentrate in class
I wonder if we'll get evicted from our apartment tonight...
I'm too sick to go to school and can't see a doctor
Will my classmates tease me because I can't afford lunch money?
What if someone brings a gun to school and shoots me?
