We are just a few weeks away from the November 3 General Election. I will share my endorsements, as well as videos of the various candidate forums for our areas. If you can't find a forum for your area, it may have been postponed (canceled) due to the Glass Fire, as is the case with the League of Women Voters forums for St. Helena, Calistoga and Yountville. Also, the video of the League-hosted forum of the American Canyon City Council candidates was damaged in some way that prevented the League from uploading it, but we have other forums. I will be using the abbreviation LoWV in place of typing out League of Women Voters repeatedly.

With just over three weeks until Election Day, now is a great time to double check your registration and make sure it is correct or that you have not been purged from the voter rolls. This is especially important if you have a common last name and are Latino or Black. In California you should double check your registration at [link removed] ([link removed])

Candidates, a lot of times, are only asked specific questions, and not offered a chance to speak for a longer time, which prevents an individual from laying out how their ideas fit together (or don't). I was invited to speak about my vision for 10 minutes by the Fil-Am Community of American Canyon (total length 11 minutes).

Folks are starting to talk about Halloween, which is supposed to be cancelled. However many people are planning on allowing their children to trick-or-treat anyway and/or will pass out candy. I will not. I know it sucks for the kids, but one kid going to one infected house will spread Covid-19 to every subsequent house and to every kid they get bunched up with. We know the second wave is coming. Halloween will most likely be the catalyst. Please stay safe. Buy your kids some candy at the store and watch Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein or something.
