Dear John --

Can you help us stop the Labour/Greens Wealth Tax?

In the past few days, Green Party Co-Leader James Shaw revealed that a future Labour/Greens Government would implement a radical new Wealth Tax specifically designed to circumvent Jacinda Ardern’s promise not to introduce a Capital Gains Tax.

James Shaw admitted this on the radio yesterday “..we’ve come up with another version and said how about this as an option then if you are not willing to consider a Capital Gains Tax..”

When asked whether Labour will live with a Wealth Tax, James Shaw said: “Well, let’s find out.” Julie-Anne Genter also confirmed to a small business panel late in September that a Wealth Tax is a “bottom line” for the Green Party in any post-election negotiations with Labour.

This will strike fear in all New Zealanders who are working hard to create a better life for themselves and their family, particularly our older New Zealanders who will be hit hard by this new tax.

Kiwis are losing their jobs, our economy is in recession, and hardship is on the rise. More new taxes are not what New Zealand needs right now.

Only National has a plan to rebuild our economy, deliver tax relief and world class infrastructure, and provide opportunities for Kiwis to get ahead.

It’s clear this election is going to be tight, and the only way to avoid a Labour/Greens Wealth Tax and higher income taxes is to back National with your Party Vote.

Regards

Judith
