Friend,
The governor has issued new guidance on hot zones in the city, and in our district. I know this process has been stressful, frustrating, and unclear, so our campaign has put together a cohesive hot zone reference guide: [[link removed]]. This guide includes the city’s hot zone tool, as well as a list of schools in the district, and what zone they’re in to see if your child’s school is fully virtual.
The health and safety of our district is my highest priority, but that does not mitigate the fact that our neighborhoods need and deserve adequate communication, enforcement, and testing. The process has been unacceptable. The map that was sprung on us with lines that cut across blocks and even houses needs clarification. The city could have been prepared for this. As we navigate this awful situation, I will continue to push for the safe reopening of these locations as expeditiously as possible.
Again, I know this is a frustrating time—I’m frustrated for and with our city, too—but I hope you find this guide helpful. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email us at [
[email protected]] or at 718-238-6044, and we’ll respond as soon as possible.
Thank you and stay safe.
