The 20-million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, in its vastness and majesty, is a haven for wildlife and an iconic national treasure -- and a vote this week could restore its protections from oil and gas drilling.

TAKE ACTION

Dear Anonymous,

As early as this week, the U.S. House of Representatives will be voting on a bill to restore protections to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

If passed, the Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act (H.R.1146) will stop the push to open the Arctic Refuge's coastal plain to oil and gas drilling.1

This bipartisan legislation is essential to conserving the coastal plains for future generations and defending the animals that call it home. That's why we're asking for your help in urging the House to vote to save the Refuge.

Tell your U.S. House representative: Support the Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act.

The 20-million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of our most pristine and wild landscapes. It supports polar bears, caribou, migratory birds and many more wild species.2

However, unless Congress passes the Arctic Cultural and Coastal Plain Protection Act, our largest wildlife refuge may quickly be destroyed. The Trump administration has rushed to push through permits for oil and gas lease sales, which could soon open the Arctic Refuge to crushing thumper trucks and earth-scarring oil rigs.3

The House of Representatives will need to act swiftly to protect the Arctic Refuge's coastal plain -- more than 1.5 million acres of vast, majestic wilderness -- from climate change-causing resource extraction. By raising our voices, we can convince Congress to act in the best interest of our environment.

Take action today to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

We know that together we can make a difference to protect polar bears, caribou and other wildlife in the Arctic Refuge.

Last winter, when the Department of the Interior first announced plans to find oil with seismic testing, enough of you raised your voice to stop, at least temporarily, the dangerous proposal. Now we need to act again and call on Congress to protect the Arctic Refuge.

Thank you for taking action,
