Today I’m launching my new ad to let voters across Mississippi know: Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith is the least effective senator in Washington.

That’s right: My opponent, who claims she’s “getting things done” for Mississippi, was ranked dead last for her effectiveness by the Center for Effective Lawmaking.

Let’s be very clear about why my opponent received this rating: She voted 21 times against Mississippi’s interests. She voted five times to undermine pre-existing conditions — FIVE! She even voted to cut $7 billion from the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that so many families rely on to make sure their children get health care.

Yes, that is who we are up against: A sitting senator who votes to take away health care from our little ones.

And here’s the kicker: Senator Hyde-Smith hasn’t passed a single bill since getting to the Senate. Not a single one. I mean, really!

Under Cindy Hyde-Smith’s tenure, Mississippi has ranked last in health care outcomes, last in education, and last in economic opportunities. Mississippians are just so sick of it.

The only way we’ll be able to start turning things around is by electing a senator who will NEVER put partisan interests before the people. And if I am elected to be your next senator this November, you can bet I will be a leader who puts Mississippians first.

But in order for me to fight for Mississippi in the Senate, I need to take on Hyde-Smith and win this November. There are only 26 days left in this campaign, and we need every dollar we can to get our ads on air, provide PPE for our volunteers and organizers, and run our big Get Out the Vote program. Can you pitch in $10 or more today?
