Friend,
A few days ago, I asked you to take my fall survey and let me know which issues the Senate should prioritize when we return to Washington this week. If you haven’t had a chance to take it yet, it’s not too late to give your input.
My team showed me the results so far, and your top issues were pretty clear. You want:
-
To secure our elections from future foreign interference
-
Progress on bipartisan, common-sense gun safety laws
I’m right there with you, friend. Our nation is hurting in the wake of one mass shooting after another, and candidly, enough is enough. There are a number of common-sense gun safety reforms that Americans from across the political spectrum actually agree on. It's only the special interests and politicians like Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell who are standing in the way of bipartisan action to make our communities safer.
I’m also incredibly alarmed that our elections remain vulnerable to foreign interference. This is an issue I’ve been fighting hard on, despite Republican obstruction in the Senate. Still, we’re making headway and gradually winning the bipartisan support we need to get this done before the 2020 elections.
These are two areas where we need action immediately, and I’m planning to keep up the fight in the Senate. But right now, I want to know what issue matters to you the most. Friend, if you haven’t taken my fall survey yet, will you weigh in?
Thanks,
Mark
