** In the Media: Fatal Error in Organ Transplant, Snopes Fact-Check

When the recipient of an organ transplant died because of an error in identifying the donor’s blood type, who among the many parties involved in organ procurement and transplantation is responsible and what is the ethical response? Hastings scholar Nancy Berlinger told the Post and Courier of South Carolina, where a lawsuit is pending, that everyone involved must apologize and take responsibility. “Safety is created every day by how people work together,” she said.
