Hi John,
Just one week to go. I know many have voted already, but if you
haven't, find your nearest place to vote HERE.
I'm asking you to please vote for me as your local candidate, and
for the National Party. Here's why...
We are in the middle of a job crisis, with hundreds of thousands
out of work and more predicted to lose their jobs over the next six
months. I like that National's plan creates jobs (you
can read about Job Start here), but also leaves us with
significantly less debt than the Labour plan, which sees us in deficit
for 15 years and with far more debt to pay back than our
plan.
I'm committed to working on the many challenges we face as a
nation, like employment, housing, mental health and education, but our
region has some unique challenges and my campaign has been very very
local. The things I'm fighting for and have worked hard to get
National to commit to are very local to all of us: a river, a road, a
school, a railway, an airport. These projects will help our region for
the next 50 years, but in the next 50 months they will create jobs and
growth that will benefit all of us. The
details are here.
Better healthcare
I'm also working hard to ensure we get the healthcare we need
locally. Over the last three years we have sadly gone backwards. The
number of elective surgeries decreased last year by a massive 6000,
the first time in a decade this has gone backwards. 794 people in the
Mid-Central DHB alone didn't get the operation they needed. Under
National this improved year on year for every single year of our
Government. Read
our commitment to fix this here.
We've also proposed a new medical school to train doctors
specifically for regions like Kāpiti and Horowhenua. We need more
health professionals in our region, and I am committed to fight hard
to get them here.
Your local candidate
We need a local MP with competence and character. We need someone
who you have seen working hard for our region, someone with a track
record you can trust to deliver.
I hope you've seen over the last year that I've been in this role
that I work hard, I'm honest, I do what I say, I turn up, and
ultimately I deliver. I fight hard for our region. You've seen that
with the Ōtaki to Levin Expressway, saving Kāpiti airport, and all the
smaller more individual things I've had the privilege to help people
with one at a time. Those ones really matter to me, and they add
up.
Please give me the honour of being your next MP.
Kind regards,
Tim
