Friend,
For people who work hard every day to provide for their families and for those who depend on their Social Security checks to get by, there’s a lot at stake this year, both in your state and in Washington, D.C.
We expect our elected officials to fight for policies that protect working people. We need affordable health care — especially during a pandemic — and we need well-funded schools that can afford to keep our teachers and students safe as they re-open. But that’s not always what happens.
Too often, the people we elect don’t have our best interests at heart. They’ll say anything to get elected, but when it comes down to it, they keep working to rig the system so the rich and powerful continue to benefit instead of working people like us.
That’s why Working America is supporting Joe Biden for president this year.
As vice president, Joe Biden successfully fought to expand health care to 20 million Americans who didn’t already have coverage. Under his leadership, insurance companies were banned from discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions, and children were allowed to stay on their parents’ health care plans until they turn 26. As president, he’ll continue his fight to make health care more affordable for working people.
Joe Biden will take action to help our country recover from this devastating pandemic. He’ll fight to reopen our economy safely so workers can get back to their jobs and support their families. He’ll make sure our health care workers have the equipment and testing supplies they need to keep our communities safe. And he’ll fight to fully fund our schools so our kids can go back to school and have a quality education.
Too many politicians have lost sight of what’s important: keeping our families healthy and safe, giving our kids every opportunity to succeed, helping families get ahead and taking care of our seniors and veterans. We need a leader with values like ours, who will focus on uniting the country on the issues that really matter.
Your vote is a personal decision. Make a plan to vote for Joe Biden by Tuesday, Nov. 3.
In solidarity,
Sydney Roberts
