Hi, friend --
Rachel Maddow has identified President Trump's plan to win re-election: "The president wants us to believe that American democracy doesn't apply this year."
Maddow explained that Trump's strategy to hold onto power is to convince Americans that the general election will be settled "in the courts or maybe in the streets," urging Americans to "defend the system -- or he'll crush it."
Pollster Nate Silver agrees with Maddow, writing that voter turnout may fall if Americans are worried about Trump stealing the election.
Maddow finished her message to Americans by reassuring us that Trump is "gonna lose if American democracy does its regular work." Here's the bad news: the majority of Americans have said they believe Trump will not accept the results of the election if he loses. That means voter turnout could fall, and Trump could win fair and square. We need to stop that from happening, right now. That's why we need a commitment from you -- will you help American democracy do its regular work? Tell us:
Will you vote against Trump?
