Last night, during the Vice Presidential debate, Mike Pence proudly said that he has "trust" in "our justice system" in not charging any of the officers directly in the death of Breonna Taylor. Then he continued on to argue that the idea systemic racism is a problem is a "great insult to the men and women who serve in law enforcement."
Let’s make this clear: Breonna Taylor’s life was taken unjustifiably, tragically, and violently. Her killers walked away free. There is no justice in that.
We’re furious — but not surprised. This is all part of the White House’s racist agenda to negatively portray our fight for reform and further divide our communities.
That’s why today we’re asking you to help us show Mike Pence and his racist friends how many people support the fight to transform our country’s broken justice systems. But as we saw in last night’s debate — for the GOP, no lie is too base or bald-faced in their quest to deny and uphold systemic racism and oppression. They’re not afraid to use their platform to promote their white-nationalist beliefs. And every day leading up to the Election — they’re going to be asking their supporters to vote for candidates who agree with their anti-reform, pro-police agenda.
