Share Your COVID Experience
|
On behalf of NASN, the CDC Foundation and Deloitte Consulting, in consultation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we would like to invite frontline school nurses to share their experiences regarding schools during this COVID-19 pandemic. Take the survey, which should take 20 minutes.
The survey will be open until October 23. We know you are busy and value your time, so those who participate will be given a $10 gift card.

School Nurse-Led Surveillance of Chronic Absenteeism Manual Available
|
|
Chronic absenteeism is defined as a student having missed more than 10% of a school year, or more than two days per month, and students who are chronically absent are at risk for academic failure and dropout. The National Association of School Nurse’s School Nurse-Led Active Surveillance of Chronic Absenteeism Manual provides a standardized, evidence-based procedure and resources to support school nurses’ important role in addressing health related absences. Information includes why addressing chronic absenteeism is critical, how to gain school-wide support, and tools for implementing the procedure.
There is no cost to access the manual or its accompanying resources.

In the upcoming election, NASN members will select a president-elect, secretary/treasurer, and a nominating committee member. The election will be conducted online from March 15, 2021 to April 15, 2021.

NASN2021 Abstract Submissions Due By October 12
|

Submit Your NASN2021 Abstract Now! The NASN2021 Oral and Poster abstract submission form is officially open. Please note these important updates.
- Your submission will now include Knowledge Questions and Rationale.
- You will be asked about the possibility of presenting virtually.
- There will be ONE call for submissions instead of separate calls for oral and poster abstracts.
The detailed guidelines in the submission form will explain these updates.
If you have an abstract for a breakout, general or poster session, please consider submitting.
NOTE: If you were selected to present at NASN2020 but deferred to NASN2021, you will need to enter the submission platform to answer updated questions. Please also take this time to update the entire submission if needed.
