With just 26 days until Election Day, voter outreach is going to be key to ensuring that a record number of voters cast their ballots this year. But for many communities, particularly the Black community, systematic and deliberate attempts to suppress voters have prevented many from casting their ballots.
To help combat these voter suppression efforts, People For the American Way Foundation has launched a new, non-partisan initiative called “Defend the Black Vote” with the goal of texting millions of Black voters in key states across the country to help mobilize voters in the 2020 election. AND, to help inspire PFAW members like you to volunteer with the program to text voters, we’re launching a friendly competition to boost the voter outreach!
We’ll be giving away limited-edition VOTE masks designed by the iconic rock band Pearl Jam, who PFAW has partnered with to help boost voter turnout in 2020. These VOTE masks will be given away to the first 20 people who sign up and complete two full volunteer texting shifts before Monday.

These masks were hand-designed by members of the band and fewer than one thousand were produced, making it a must-have item for any devoted fan of Pearl Jam or democracy.
