# [#]As I write this, our multistate legal coalition is preparing to head into court to challenge President Trump’s illegal “dirty power plan.”

President Trump’s own Environmental Protection Agency reported that if he eliminated President Obama’s Clean Power Plan and replaced it with his own proposal, thousands of Americans would be injured or killed. He did it anyway.

So we took him to court.

President Trump’s illegal action is a shameless giveaway to the fossil fuel industry. It is a thinly-veiled attempt to loosen restrictions on coal power plants. It increases air pollution and causes harm to the health and well-being of Washingtonians. It does nothing to combat the existential threat of climate change.
