Spirit Day, the world’s largest LGBTQ anti-bullying campaign, supports youth disproportionately singled out for their identities in school, online and now even at home. Stand with millions of others worldwide to show them they are not alone.
How do I get involved?
It’s easy!
- Take the pledge to stop bullying now!
- Learn about LGBTQ youth and the challenges they face with bullying
- Wear purple at home, work, and school - in person and online
- Use #SpiritDay to spread the Spirit Day message to all your friends on social media - Recruit as many people as you can to stand up against bullying!
- Follow @glaad on Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram for more surprises and ways to participate leading up to Spirit Day
But I don’t own anything purple!
You're covered - Support GLAAD and go purple at our official Spirit Day 2020 merch site.
How can I help LGBTQ youth in my community?
Check out GLAAD’s resource kits for effective actions on how to prevent bullying and stop it when you see it.
Who else is going purple?
Next Thursday, Adam Rippon, The Chicks, Halle Berry, Sterling K. Brown, Jazz Jennings, Cher, Connie Britton, LeAnn Rimes, Tegan & Sara, D.J “Shangela” Pierce and more will stand against bullying. Join them and help us make 2020 the biggest Spirit Day ever!
How can I support Youth Programs?
CHALLENGE: The funding we raise in the October and on Spirit Day fuels our youth programs. This year, Justin Tranter, one of our Board members, is MATCHING every dollar raised with a $250,000 challenge. Support GLAAD Campus Ambassadors, 20 Under 20, Rising Stars and our year-round Youth Programs that create community and empower this newest generation of advocates by making a donation.
Spirit Day 2020 is presented by Delta Air Lines, Kellogg's, and Target; GLAAD thanks our partners for standing in support of LGBTQ youth.
