Indivisibles,
After her performance at last night’s vice presidential debate, there’s no
denying that Senator Kamala Harris is a historic leader for a historic
moment. As head of the White House coronavirus task force, Mike Pence
could have used this debate as an opportunity to answer to the American
people. Instead, Pence calmly deflected, downplayed, and outright lied his
way through. [ [link removed] ]If, like us, you would rather turn frustration into
action, talk to voters in critical states across the country by
phonebanking with Windivisible.
Senator Harris came prepared with the facts to back her ability to take on
the mess Trump and Pence are leaving behind. She was clear about the
Biden/Harris administration’s plans to address issues like COVID-19
relief, economic recovery, and climate change. But even more impactful
than her ability to counter Pence’s lies with her extensive experience and
detailed plans, her confidence and care made us feel like we’re in good
hands. After four years of lying, callousness, and corruption, Kamala
reminded us that better days are coming.
Over the previous week, the failures of the Trump/Pence administration
have been on full display: after months of downplaying the seriousness of
the life-threatening illness, Trump (and many in his administration)
contracted COVID-19. While the severity of his condition is unknown, Trump
undermined the severity of COVID-19 and continued to share misinformation
about stopping the spread. And just yesterday, Trump stalled congressional
talks around a COVID-19 relief package after he vowed to pass his version
of ‘relief’ after the election. In the Senate, Mitch McConnell is
following suit by pushing ahead with an illegitimate hearing for a judge
who stands to end the Affordable Care Act, stripping healthcare from
millions of Americans during a pandemic. Disgraceful doesn’t quite cover
it.
Your impact starts at your commitment to voting. Here are a few steps to
help you make a plan to vote:
1. [ [link removed] ]Check your voter registration status (yes, even if you’re already
registered to vote). We encourage you to double-check your status
because some states aren’t required to inform you when they purge the
voter rolls.
2. [ [link removed] ]Register right now if you have to. If you're all set, skip to #3.
Every state sets their own key voting dates -- some allow you to
register as late as Election Day, but most have strict deadlines. Make
sure you’re prepared by registering to vote as soon as possible.
3. [ [link removed] ]If you’re planning to vote by mail, request your ballot right away.
Voting by mail is so safe -- even the president does it! Because of
COVID-19, some states have transitioned to all mail-in voting, so make
sure to plan ahead. If you meet your state’s requirements to vote
absentee, make sure to apply for or request your ballot as soon as you
can. Then, mail it back by the deadline [ [link removed] ](again, every state is
different) or drop it off at your local ballot drop boxes.
4. [ [link removed] ]If you’re planning on voting in-person, consider voting early. The
election doesn’t only happen on November 3 -- many states allow you to
vote early to avoid long lines on Election Day. Since some states are
only accepting mail-in ballots, be sure to check out your options and
make a note of your state’s early voting deadlines. Then, grab your
mask and hand-sanitizer and head to the polls at your designated
precinct!
Now that you (and your friends and family) have a plan to vote, we need to
spread the word to as many people across the country as possible.

trust us, we shift the narrative. When we do this by the thousands as
the Indivisible Truth Brigade, we get our country back.
Join us in making the most of the next 26 days by doing your part to make
our movement stronger. If last night’s debate reminded us of anything,
it’s that our votes are the most powerful tools for holding our elected
officials accountable -- let’s get to work.
In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
PS: [ [link removed] ]If you can, consider donating to fund all our efforts to send
Trump and Pence packing. We’re taking on Trump and his friends in the
Senate to protect the Affordable Care Act, the Supreme Court, and
democracy as we know it. It’s a big job, so we’re asking for your support.
